Origins
STLFurs was created in 2012 as an alternative to the previously existing mailing list on (now defunct) Yahoo Groups that was at the time the main platform of the St. Louis furry community. Envisioned as a simple social network, the community started to grow as community members hosted regular meetups.
Growth
As the community grew, so did the demand for events, meetups, and other gatherings. STLFurs began to host regular events, with the largest events seeing around 100 attendees.
Future
As of 2025, the original owners of STLfurs have moved out of state, but our community is still going strong with over 600 members, and growing. Check out our Telegram group to chat and meet with fellow furries in the area, and see community-led events and meetups.
